The effects of lower back pain due to herniated disc on sleep, quality of life and depression symptoms

Introduction: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between herniated disc-related low back pain and depression, sleep, quality of life.Methods: A control group consisting 28 patients with healthy volunteers were included in study. Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) Quality Life Index (SF-36) are applied all groups. Pain severity was evaluated Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Sleep parameters analyzed an actigraphy device.Results: life scores differed two groups, they observed as significantly higher disc. Moreover, there a positive correlation depression. On other hand, negative intensity sleep efficiency. Subjects had worse lower efficiency (mean 71.7%) than group.
